A Sense of Place is a nonprofit organization founded in early 2023. Our mission is to provide low-income or displaced persons with home decor packages (such as pillows, bedding, accents, artwork and botanicals), home organization systems, and design services to help make their living space, whether temporary or permanent, feel more like a home. By creating a nurturing, organized and well-designed living space, the goal is to reduce stress, heal, inspire and create more stability for low-income and displaced persons.
A Sense of Place envisions a society in which everyone has access to a cozy and well-designed place to call home, regardless of socioeconomic condition or personal circumstances. We believe that a well-designed living space has the capacity to reduce stress, heal, inspire, and enable people to make great life changes.
Sponsor a Room
With our Sponsor a Room program, you can choose to sponsor one or multiple rooms in an apartment or home of a low-income or displaced person and our volunteers will take care of the rest by purchasing, delivering and installing the items on your behalf.

Our Services
- Home Decor Distribution: We work with other nonprofit organizations to provide a variety of home packages, including pillows, bedding, works of art, home accents and plants. These carefully chosen items are intended to provide character and warmth to living areas, transforming a living space into a home. Packages are also chosen to make a big impact with a limited budget.
- Home Organization Systems: We provide useful tips to make living areas as functional as possible, guaranteeing that even the tiniest of spaces may be tidy and effective. Our organization techniques assist people in maintaining a clutter-free environment, which lowers stress and improves daily life.
- Design Services: For low-income and displaced households, we offer free, specialized design consultations and services working in concert with other local nonprofit organizations. We collaborate closely with our partners to modify spaces in a way that reflect individual personalities and demands, from layout optimization to color palettes.
